Lana Schwartzman is a seasoned compliance professional with almost 20 years of experience spanning Web3, digital assets, fintech, and traditional finance (TradFi). Currently serving as the Head of Regulatory Compliance at Notabene, she has a proven track record in regulatory and policy affairs strategy, designing and implementing comprehensive BSA/AML/Sanctions compliance programs, leading MSB/MTL licensure strategies, conducting internal audits, and performing independent compliance program reviews for NFT and cryptocurrency companies, financial institutions, and foreign banking organizations. Lana’s extensive experience and commitment to compliance have made her a trusted leader in the industry, contributing significantly to the development of regulatory standards and best practices in the rapidly evolving digital assets landscape.
Prior to her role at Notabene, Lana was the Chief Compliance Officer at two prominent crypto companies. She also spent seven years at Grant Thornton’s Regulatory and Compliance Risk Advisory Services practice, advising early crypto adopters on establishing robust compliance frameworks. Her compliance career began with positions at Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank.
Recognized as a subject matter expert in cryptocurrency regulations and compliance, Lana stays abreast of all Global Regulatory and AML regulations. She is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and holds the Notabene Travel Rule Certification, ACAMS Virtual Currency Certification, and various Chainalysis certifications. In 2019, she was honored as “AML Professional of the Month” and has been a frequent panelist at ACAMS, ACFCS, and various crypto, Web3, and NFT conferences and podcasts.
